About Us
Kashi Bose Lane Durga Puja Samity, popularly known as Kashi Bose Lane Durga Puja Committee, is one of North Kolkata's long-running community Durga Pujas. Established in 1937, the puja has continued its annual celebrations while incorporating new artistic and cultural dimensions.
Located at 5/1, Kashi Bose Lane, Manicktala, Darjipara, Kolkata, the puja is part of the popular North Kolkata pandal circuit. The committee's official website highlights its heritage, traditional rituals and community participation.
For 2026, the committee is celebrating its 89th year. The 2026 Khuti Puja and Kathamo Puja were held on 9 August 2026, marking the beginning of the year's preparations.

Kashi Bose Lane Durga Puja Samity is celebrating its 89th year in 2026. The year's Puja preparations began with Khuti Puja and Kathamo Puja on 9 August 2026 at Kashi Bose Lane KIT Park. The 2026 celebration carries the concept “Srishti Pujo” (সৃষ্টি পুজো) in its early festival branding, symbolising the beginning and creation of the new Puja season.
The concept beautifully connects the traditional ritual of Khuti and Kathamo Puja with the gradual creation of the Durga idol and pandal. The decorated bamboo structure, artistic craftsmanship and traditional rituals come together to mark the beginning of another year of the historic Kashi Bose Lane Puja.

Kashi Bose Lane Durga Puja Samity has taken a notable decision for Durga Puja 2026. According to the committee's 2026 message, the Samity has decided not to accept the proposed ₹1 lakh government grant for this year's Puja.
At the same time, the committee has welcomed the decision to provide 100% exemption on electricity bills for Durga Puja celebrations and expressed its gratitude for the initiative.
The committee has also thanked its members, subscribers, well-wishers and local residents for their continued love, support and cooperation. The message highlights that this collective support will continue to strengthen the Samity's cultural and social activities in the coming days.
