Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education & Research (IPGMER) and Seth Sukhlal Karnani Memorial Hospital (SSKM Hospital) is a major government medical college and tertiary teaching hospital in Kolkata. The institution has a long history. The hospital traces its origins to the Presidency General Hospital, while IPGMER was inaugurated in 1957 as a postgraduate medical education and research institute.
